On the Course...
This week has produced two sensational rounds in the Men’s and Ladies competitions, but I must start with the ladies as was possibly the most amazing score in the worst conditions. Firstly, I was amazed to actually see the ladies go out on play on Tuesday, the wind and rain was at times coming in sideways. |
The course was only just remaining open so we were predicting that a winning score might just reach the low thirties but boy were we wrong. Firstly, we had two 35 points from Frances Collomosse and Zhuquing Bao which we thought would be enough but then up stepped the no officially ‘best-wet weather player in The Club’, Kay Briggs who somehow manged 42 points! So, if anyone’s after some tips on how to play in hurricanes, drop Kay a line. Superb round of golf Kay.
And, not to be outdone the chaps headed out on Sunday to play for one of our more interesting looking trophies that was put up by Epsom Legend, The late, Great Captain Mike Smith. Again, some cracking scores with Paul Harris (now single figures) in runners up spot and Ernie Covington in third both with 41 points. However, Tom Phillips topped the pile with a sensational 44 points to take home the trophy. Great round Tom. |

Time to trade-in those old clubs A number of you have dropped in those old unwanted clubs for credit in The Pro Shop, but if you still have old clubs lying around gathering dust why not drop them in. We then get a quote, you say yes or no, and then the credit goes on your Pro Shop account. The only thing we ask is that the clubs are roughly within ten or so years old and are a recognised golfing manufacture.

So, why not grab a coffee, take five and watch our latest video on why TaylorMade’s P790 irons could well be the perfect addition to your bag? |
“The P790's going to give you a slightly softer feel and has a more compact profile for playability” Never have truer words been spoken and we love the fact that P790 not only offers that high level of workability that you'd expect from a player's iron, but it also produces explosive distance. “SpeedFoam supports the face and dampens vibrations for a softer and more explosive feel” So, why not give the P790 a go? Our expertise will help you through the fitting process to make sure the investment you're making in your game actually results in better scores. After all, what’s the point of getting the best set of irons if they aren’t perfectly suited to your swing?
