As I say it was a wonderful event this year and with the hard work of so many members and staff it now runs like a well-oiled machine but I do want to thank a few: - The Pro-Am committee led by Declan O’Brien
- The Volunteers organised by Roger Wildig and Paul Briggs, they not only help on the day but also in setting up and taking down before and after
- Kay Briggs and her lovely group of ladies who keep us all fed and watered out on the course
- Ann and Tina who pulled out a 28-hour day, along with Pat Foot who run the reception
- Our Catering staff who provided a lovely carvery all day long
- Craig and the greenstaff boys who worked so hard to present and impeccable golf course
- All the sponsors who so generously support the event, especially Hector and Horacio of King of Cotton for providing all the goody bags once more. They couldn’t play this year unfortunately and one of Hectors now ‘Famous speeches’ was sorely missed
- My right-hand man Adam who does so much behind the scenes (and my apologies on beating him by three shots)
However, my biggest thanks go out to all you members and your guests for supporting the event in so many ways, entering teams, providing prizes, volunteering and generally creating such an amazing atmosphere throughout the day and especially at the presentation. I’ve played in many pro ams’ over the years and ours is sill and will always be the best. Next year we are moving the date back a week as so does The Derby, so stick Friday, 22 May in your diaries and don’t miss out.
