Hello golfers,
Well, if this week doesn't inspire you to get out on the golf course I don't know what will. We've got The US Open on the telly, the weather is beautiful and the golf course is looking stunning. The greenstaff have done an amazing job in getting the course back to looking as good as it was before The Derby rode into town.
So, if you feel inspired then we have our flagship event coming up in a couple of weeks. Our Pro-Am is played on Friday, 30 June and we still have a few places available if you would like to enter a team. A members' team can either consist of all members or alternatively if you would like to invite two other non-members into your team it is still the same cost of £180. For this you will receive coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, be teamed up with one of the best PGA Professionals in the South Region for 18 holes of best two scores from four, you will then enjoy a luxury buffet after golf and hopefully also enjoy the presentation of your wonderful prizes. It's a great day at the club, as you can see by the smiles on last year's winners, so if you would like to enter a team or require any further information contact me here.
Don't forget Father's Day...
I hope you haven't forgotten Father's Day this coming Sunday? I know a few have been in for some gifts or vouchers, but there is still time to give the old chap something he really deserves. We have a great range of summer golf shirts in at the moment, golf balls galore or many other great gifts if you would like to pop in. If you are unable to get down to the club then simply call up the shop and I can email you vouchers for either golf lessons, time on the golf simulator or credit in the pro shop.
Odyssey Demo Putters
I am very happy to say that the Odyssey demo putters bag is still with us and many of you have taken advantage of being able to try all putters across their range. So while we still have them all here, pop in and try a few out on the practice green. One of us in the pro shop will also be more than happy to come over with you and advise the best putter to fit you and your stroke, and of course offer a couple of pointers!
Click here to visit our website for more details on the Odyssey range.
On the Course...
The Past Captains are at it again! Congratulations to Sid French who returned a very impressive plus four in the difficult Par/Bogey format to win The Stredwick Cup. Great round Sid and good luck playing off the new 18 handicap after also winning last week's Mid-week Qualifier #maninform.
Congratulations also to Sue Osbourne who narrowly beat Julie Burgess with a nett 72, to win the Ladies EWGA Medal this week. Well played Sue.
