On The Course...

Well the Men's Winter League is looking like turning into a two horse race after Adam Stapley and Howard Jones took Sunday's victory to move them two points clear of Ray Williams and Stan Arnot with only two more rounds to go. However, we mustn't right off third placed Mick Peddie and Phil Baker who still have a small score to drop.

This week for the ladies it was 'The Bisque Bogey', which is a tricky format playing against the course and unfortunately the course often wins. Not this time however as Diana Tombs and Kay Briggs both recorded fantastic plus fours against the course. However, Diana just stole the victory on countback… well played ladies!

 

Captains' Farewell Bash - Saturday, 11 March

The sheet is now full, but if you didn't get you're names down in time, please let me know and I can double up on a few more tees. It's a Texas Scramble team of four shotgun start at 10:00am, followed by food, a presentation and 'The Captain's Karaoke', all for just £15 per golfer. 

Epsom Pro-Am 2017 - Friday, 30 June

It's always our flagship event at the club, but if you would like to get involved stick the date in your diary. Whether you would like to put in either a corporate team, a members' team or if you have friends who would like to enter an outside team, please email or drop into the pro shop for further information and prices.

On the other hand, if you don't fancy playing, but would like to be involved, we are always are looking for volunteers to help out on both the preparation the day before or actually on the day itself. All volunteers are given lunch and drinks as a thank you, again please contact me at the pro Shop if you are interested.

 

TaylorMade Weekend Success

A great TaylorMade demo weekend took place this week with many of you coming in and trying the new products. One particular member actually added two clubs in distance with the new M2 irons, not sure the course is going to be long enough now!

Congratulations to Alan Rhodes, who after going for the new M2 high-launch 3-wood and the new M2 driver, was lucky enough to win a FREE TaylorMade trolley bag in the prize draw. Thank you to all how took the time to try the new products, but if you couldn't manage to get down this weekend, don't worry as I have a bag full of TaylorMade demo clubs for you to try at your convenience. We also have another demo weekend booked for April. However, I'm so confident in new product, that if I can't add at least 10 yards to your drive, or a club to your irons then I'll give you a few sleeve of the balls of your choice.

Captain's Drive-in Prize Draw

The board is going up for this year's Captains Drive-in Prize Draw and the prizes this year will be:

• First prize - A set of custom fit TaylorMade irons.
• Second prize - A TaylorMade M2 driver.
• Third prize - A TaylorMade trolley or carry bag.

Head to the pro shop and get your names down on the board. Entry - £2 per square or 10 for £10.

It's Carvery Season

We have a few Sunday Carveries coming up over the next couple of months and all the booking posters are going up in the entrance hall, but if you can't get to the club then either contact me or the bar to book a table. Dates are as follows:

• Captains Drive-in Carvery - Sunday, 19 March.
• Mother's Day Carvery - Sunday, 26 March.
• Easter Carvery - Sunday, 16 April.
