On the Course...
For the men this week it was the February Stableford and a healthy field it was too with 70 golfers heading out on Sunday morning. Division One was won by Mark Bennett who shot the best round of the day with a terrific 42 points which gained him a two shot handicap cut to 11. Division Two was won by Trevor Cowley (the invisible man in the picture) with 38 points, narrowly beating his brother-in-law Malcolm Walker on countback. Division Three was again won on countback by Neil Stuart who nudged in front of Brian Dodson to take home the crystal. Well played to all three!
This week's Ladies Stableford was again a tight run competition with Jean Kenny just edging over the line on countback with 37 points in front of Sue Becksmith… good golf ladies.
Just a gentle reminder for the men that this Sunday's Winter League will be 'Two Clubs and a Putter Event', so pick wisely and good luck. Also on The Winter League Series, because we have lost two rounds to fog and rain, we have decided to add an additional round on Sunday, 12 March. This will replace the pro shop competition which is placed at this time for such eventualities.
Course Update
I am very happy to say that work has started on replacing the surface material on the 1st tee path to a rubber crumb material. The firm we are using have now stripped the old surface away and the new surface will be going in on Monday/Tuesday. We hope that the entire path will be ready for use for Wednesday. The men's yellow and white markers will now be moved back for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but I would ask you to continue to use the old path to the right as the unprepared surface is very uneven. Thank you for your co-operation.
The Sales Wall Continues
I have created a Sale Wall in the pro shop with the last remaining bargains before all the NEW spring/summer collections arrive. Come and have a look and bag some great bargains while stocks last.
The Fully Stocked Shoe Wall
Nearly all of the NEW shoe ranges have arrived and are out on display ready for you to have a try. The brand New Under Armour shoes are also on their way and I have to say they look great… just ask Jordan Spieth.
Demo Days A Plenty
A couple of dates for your diaries... On Friday, 17 February, Saturday, 18 February and Sunday, 19 February the new TaylorMade demo kit will be at the club. So if you are interested in trying the new M1 or M2 drivers or the new M2 irons, then click here to book a fitting at any time over the weekend. We will also have the new driver out on the course and if you try it you will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two TaylorMade stand bags.
