On the Course...
Firstly, I would like to congratulate one of our lowest handicapped golfers, Martin Cooper, on his victory at the UK Seniors' Championships played at John O'Guant Golf Club in Bedfordshire. Martin returned a 74 and 75 to beat a field of 120 golfers and take the title. Some superb golf to earn Martin a new handicap of three and what a great time to hit form with the Club Championships just around the corner.
This week's Ladies Competition was The All Winner Trophy and Alternative Stableford and as I'm very proud of our academy section here at Epsom, I'm delighted to say that both winners are past academy ladies. The All Winners title was won by big hitting Susan Pepperell with a cracking nett 68 and the Alternative Stableford was won by Finola Burrowes with a fantastic 36 points. Well played ladies, but watch out as we have more academy ladies coming through.
Last Sunday saw a pretty healthy field of gents head to play for the Tritton Cup, the format was Par Bogey which is not always everyone's favourite. However, it will certainly be a favourite of the winner, Paul Morris, who carded and stunning +8 to lift one of the nicest trophies in the cabinet. A big one which I'm sure took a lot of filling up! Well played Paul some great golf there.
